Access key fobs give users a convenient way to use contactless technology. They’re a popular alternative to standard access control cards since they can be attached directly to a keyring or lanyard. That makes them less likely to be lost or damaged, keeping costs low.
Most fobs communicate with access control readers at 13.56MHz. That means the holder only needs to be in the ‘proximity’ of the reader and doesn't need to make contact with it for their fob to be read.
